The mission of an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister is to assist the priest at Mass in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to the faithful in Holy Communion. Many Eucharistic Ministers take Communion to the elderly who are homebound and those who are absent due to illness.  These ministers serve as a bridge between the parish and the community of faithful.

Eucharistic Ministers must be at least 16 years old and be a Confirmed, practicing Catholic. The person appointed for this task must be instructed, and should strive to live a life consistent with the sacrament they are distributing.  They must be responsible and arrive early to the Masses in which they are scheduled and be witnesses to the faith in their daily lives. This ministry requires prior approval by the pastor.
